This is the first year we can think of that our mountain streams have all been low, clear and fishable for opening day. Steve and Josh went down south for opening day and floated the Waterton River. There were no monsters landed but streamers produced large numbers of fish and many nice fish in the 18-21” range. The Oldman river was exceptionally clear, which is so unusual to see for this time of year. The Sheep, the Highwood and the tribs of the Oldman were all in good shape and not only fishable, but fishing well.
The Bow continues to fish well and low water levels mean dry fly fishing is on and the early season has golden stones hatching already so many of the guides have already been out on 4am starts.
