Josh accompanied Richard French and Slipstream Angling on an incredible liveaboard trip to Cayo Cruz, the distant edge of the same Marine preserve that is almost unreachable from the docks of Cayo Romano where OFF normally hosts. The Yacht was Avalon Fleet I and although its not the newest liveabaord it was an incredibly clean and comfortable boat that had an exceptional crew and a chef that prepared food that was out of this world. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and there were only 2 days where the group could fish the flats, either due to heavy cloud cover or torrential rain. Fortunately there were mangrove channels that had lots of cooperative tarpon, jacks, and big snapper. The first day there were bonefish and permit landed but the light was so difficult it made sight casting basically impossible. Unfortunately the weather didn’t make the photography Josh was there to get entirely possible, however we couldn’t have been better looked after by both Slipstream and the guides and crew of Avalon Fleet I.
